Valencia CF welcomed CA Osasuna to Mestalla in an important LaLiga EA Sports clash. The Valencian side faced the match under pressure, needing points to gain peace of mind in the standings and boost confidence in front of their fans. Mestalla had to be a push for a team seeking consistency and decisiveness in the penalty areas. Meanwhile, the visitors arrived with better feelings and less urgency. Solid and competitive, the Navarre team tried to take advantage of the spaces and the good form of their attacking reference, Ante Budimir.

FIRST HALF

The match started with both teams trying to take control of the ball in midfield, although without taking too many risks in build-up. After thirty minutes without any dangerous play, the first controversy of the match arrived. Valencia’s Belgian forward tried a low shot inside the area and the Osasuna defender touched the ball with his hand, but the referee did not signal anything, considering the player had his hand close to the ground, a decision that caused protests from the home team.

Valencia tried to speed up the game by looking for the flanks and crosses into the area but encountered a well-organized Osasuna defense that closed down spaces effectively. Meanwhile, Osasuna bet on quick transitions and direct play towards Budimir, who had the best chance for the visitors after a through ball that he failed to finish precisely against the rival goalkeeper’s charge.

As the minutes passed, the rhythm stabilized and defenses prevailed over attacks, leaving a competitive first half with tactical effort from both sides and few clear opportunities. Half-time arrived with the score still 0-0 and everything open for the second half.

SECOND HALF

Just after the second half began, the visitors had the first dangerous chance. Rubén García sent a good cross to the near post that Ante Budimir managed to finish after winning the jump against the rival defense, although his shot went over the crossbar. From that moment on, CA Osasuna felt more comfortable with possession and began to create danger down the wings.

As the minutes passed, the game changed completely. In the 64th minute, Corberán’s men found their reward. After a great pass from Javi Guerra, forward Sadiq was alone in front of Sergio Herrera, dribbled him precisely, and the goalkeeper fouled him, causing a penalty. The Belgian forward, Ramazani, took responsibility for the spot kick and did not fail, although the penalty had to be retaken because José Gayà had moved forward by entering the area early. In the second attempt, the Belgian attacker confidently converted the goal again.

After the goal, Valencia became much more solid and began to control the match with greater calm. Meanwhile, Alessandro Lisci’s men barely managed to approach the opponent’s goal, as time passed without major incidents.

The match ended with a home victory, securing three points for the Valencian team in a final stretch where they knew how to defend the advantage with order and maturity. The visitors tried to react in the last minutes but failed to find spaces to equalize the score, with the game closing with a win for the hosts and leaving good feelings in the decisive phase.
