Dani Calvo returns to the starting eleven in Oviedo's test against Atlético, and the trials give Fonseca the starting position.

Real Oviedo

Real Oviedo faces Atlético de Madrid tonight (21:00 hours) with the aim of adding three extremely valuable points for Guillermo Almada's team. Injuries in defense force the coach to make at least one change in his lineup.

The main novelty appears in the heart of the backline. Dani Calvo, who accumulates five seasons and 180 matches with Real Oviedo, returns after two and a half months without playing at Carlos Tartiere: eight matches, coinciding with Almada's entire tenure as head coach. The Uruguayan even called on Oier Luengo when the center-back was close to leaving on loan, and now he will have to rely on the player from Huesca due to the injuries of David Costas and Eric Bailly.

Calvo will pair with David Carmo, with whom he has already shared defense from the start on two occasions: a defeat in Elche and a victory at Mestalla. On the flanks, no changes are expected, with Nacho Vidal and Javi López.

In midfield, Santiago Colombatto returns after serving his suspension against Real Sociedad. Despite the debate around the team, Almada has worked during the week with Fonseca and Sibo as a duo in central midfield, an idea he usually does not change at the last minute. Up front, Hassan, Alberto Reina, Ilyas Chaira, and Fede Viñas remain fixed pieces.

Possible lineup
Aarón Escandell; Nacho Vidal, Dani Calvo, Carmo, Javi López; Sibo, Fonseca; Hassan, Reina, Ilyas Chaira; and Fede Viñas.
