Vinicius Junior was unable to complete the Clásico. In the 88th minute, after an exchange of gestures with the bench and two conversations with Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazilian finally requested the substitution and was replaced with visible signs of pain. The diagnosis, confirmed by the coaching staff after the match, was an ankle sprain.

The first warning came when Endrick was getting ready to enter the field. At that moment, Vinicius?limping but with the intention to continue?approached Ancelotti to ask to stay in the match. The coach agreed, but just moments later, the player reversed his decision and requested the substitution.

From the bench, he was treated and evaluated by the club's medical staff, although additional tests and his own sensations will determine the actual extent of the injury. The match, which ended in a tight 4-3 result, forced quick decisions to be made.

Ancelotti sought to clarify what happened in the press conference, reaffirming his authority on substitutions. "“He didn't make the change, I did," he concluded. "He had an ankle sprain. He tried to continue, but it bothered him and I made the change," added the Italian firmly.

It seems unlikely that he will be available on Wednesday against Mallorca, nor is there a need to rush the player given the practically secured position in LaLiga standings.
